Jehovah Jirah

Here it is, the Monday before I leave. Today is to be my last "big day" accomplishing things around the house. Tomorrow we load the truck in the evening and Wednesday morning my stepfather and I head out to Baltimore. I'm expecting a call from the realtor today to list our house on the market. All that seemed so far away is finally here.
My main story for the post though happened this weekend. I've always heard of people telling stories of how God provided for them and I've got one to share. On Saturday I took my car in to be looked over before taking it to Maryland. I was expecting maybe a filter change or some fluid top off but the estimate they came back with was over $650! I could tell the work needed to be done (it wasn't a scam) but Michael and I did not know how we were going to pay for it. We looked over some figures, I got discouraged, and finally just thought I can't spend all day thinking about this and told them to go ahead with the work.
Yesterday morning at church there was a bag on the alter for people to put money in to help us get to Baltimore. I was not expecting this at all. The money that was in that bag, along with a refund check we were not expecting, money from some tickets that don't usually sell, and a reimbursement check all totaled up to cover the final price of the car service with about $6 to spare. Praise the Lord!
So what did I take from this- don't worry about money. It's been a long time since I honestly have worried about money. We aren't in the poor house but were not expecting another large purchase to come so this one really through me for a loop. I got in a bad mood, grew frustrated, and let it dictate my day. Lord, I apologize. Thank you for taking care of me in unexpected ways. Please continue to help me make wise financial choices and help me to realize that you have promised to provide for me. I just need to get myself out of the way because you've got it all under control.
One other thing- I woke up yesterday with a sore throat and runny nose. Any prayers that this will quickly go away will be greatly appreciated! Nobody wants to take a road trip where the tissues quickly accumulate on the floorboard.

10.4.07

I decided to set up a blog of my own to detail out my journey to Baltimore. When posed with having to creatively name said blog I first wanted to somehow work the A-Team into it, but it just didn't feel right. "A Plan Comes Together"? "On the Jazz"? "I want some trash bags!"? No, they didn't work. However, Tell the World did because that's why I'm going to Baltimore. I want to tell the world that Jesus died for them and that He lives again. (I'm not that creative on my own- this is also a Hillsong United song that I learned at camp this year.)
It's now late and I feel accomplished at just getting this set up. More to come on how I arrived at this point...
